Ballet Classes in Norwich
Ballet has been taught at GSD since the school opened in Norwich in 1946. Our students are given the highest level of ballet training from highly qualified and experienced teachers, whether they want to prepare for a career in ballet or just want to have fun.
Students are encouraged to take regular ISTD exams in order to progress. At higher levels (Grade 6 and above) these exams also count towards additional UCAS points for university applications.
Mini Movers – Ages 3-4
GSD runs regular mini movers ballet classes which are great for your child’s first introduction to dancing to music. Students in the mini movers classes also have the opportunity to perform in our bi-annual show.
Ballet Lessons For Children Aged 4 and Up
Children aged 4 and up can start taking weekly ballet classes preparing for ISTD examinations. While students are encouraged to perform to their potential, classes cater for a range of abilities. Every child is given the same opportunity as the next, and those that wish to pursue a career in dance are given the support to achieve the credentials and experience necessary to apply for ballet school or dance college.
If you have booked your class and are coming to try a ballet class please can you/ your child wear something like tshirt and leggings with bare feet – although we do have some 2nd hand ballet shoes that you can try!
